La cocina es uno de lo ámbitos que acostumbra a estar más lleno de estereotipos cuando salta de su país de origen a otro de diferente. Ni en España son todo paellas amarillas ni sangrías de cartón ni en México, que es lo que hoy nos incumbe, son todo nachos con doble de queso picantes ni fajitas de pollo y pimiento. Sin embargo, este estereotipo es el que nos encontramos en la mayoría de mexicanos que frecuentamos y este estereotipo precisamente es lo que han querido romper Paulina Aronchi y Marc Duran con su taquería Tlaxcal.
Situada en el barrio del Born (¡dónde mejor!), Tlaxcal ofrece un nuevo concepto de comida mexicana. Un concepto auténtico, cuidando al máximo los ingredientes y nutriéndose del recetario mexicano de Paulina. El de toda la vida, vamos. Y es que ella es mexicana, y con este local ha querido trasladar una parte de su país a la Ciutat Comtal.

Teniendo en cuenta lo dicho anteriormente, no os esperéis el típico local con flores, mantos de colores y un cuadro de Frida Khalo, porque no. El espacio es moderno y minimalista, con predominio del blanco y del metal y desde fuera, seguramente, no induce a pensar que allí dentro puedes probar los mejores tacos de Barcelona. Y es que los tacos son uno de los platos mas tipicos e identificativos de la cocina mexicana y en Tlaxcal los elevan a su maxima expresion. Ademas también podemos encontrar unos nachos diferentes a los que estamos acostumbrados, buenísimos. con cebolla, tomate natural a trocitos y queso fundido. ¡Se me hace la boca agua sólo de imaginármelos!
Do not expect to enter into the typical establishment full of flowers and colours and with a Frida Khalo painting. The enviroment is modern and minimalist based on white and metallic furniture, from outside you would not think you will find inside one of the best tacos from Barcelona. Also, the menu offers a wide range of differnt nachos, more than what we are used to. They are made with onion, chopped tomato and cheese.
Yo de ti no perderia la oportunidad de disfrutar del Mexico mas tradicional en pleno Born. Una combinacion immejorable. Ah por cierto, tranquil@ si eres un principiante en el mundo del taco, porque en una de sus paredes se muestra muy graficemente su proceso de degustación.
If I were you I would not miss the opportunity of visiting the most traditional Mexico in the Born. It is a perfect combination. By the way, do not worry if you are new at eating tacos, because on one of its walls, you will see a graphical explanation of how to eat them.
